Level Design Portfolio
Recent Community Work
Most of my more recent community work uses the Unreal Engine. Some examples are shown below:
DM-1on1-Anglod
Anglod is a fast-paced indoor deathmatch level.
It’s designed primarily for 1 on 1 action, but is easily suited for up to 4 players free for all.
The title is from the Middle Welsh for “Disgrace, Satire”.
Fight in a moody abandoned industrial complex slowly being taken over by a migrating nature and perpetual storm.

VCTF-Ophelia-RE
My entry to the Unreal Playground vehicle capture the flag competition. Two opposing castles fight for possession of the flag! It’s suitable for between 8-16 players.
There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance; pray you, love, remember: and there is pansies, that’s for thoughts. There’s fennel for you, and columbines; - there’s rue for you; and here’s some for me: O, you must wear your rue with a difference. – There’s a daisy: I would give you some violets; but they withered all when my father died. - They say, he made a good end.

ONS-Calliope
The Calliope Archipelago is a medium sized island based onslaught level featuring island to island combat and some intense indoor action. It’s suitable for between 10-18 players.
Under the watchful gaze of a distant planet, the beach is riddled with intense warfare though the waters remain calm.

ONS-Julia
Icy Julia is an asymmetrical Onslaught level for Unreal Tournament 2004. It’s suitable for anywhere upwards of 8 players and is my first level for this new gametype.
Deep in the icy wasteland, light-years from civilization the tournament continues. When the temperature is so far below zero the warming sensation of a face full of plasma suddenly becomes quite appealing.

This is just a map you have to see to believe. The gameplay aspects are difficult to describe. It has it’s own style you could say

DM-1on1-RachelRE
Rachel Station was originally released for UT2003, but has been since substantially reworked for UT2004. It’s a small 1 on 1 level designed for close quarters combat. I’ve tried to give the visual theme of nature working in harmony with technology.
Reality twisted… slightly. Earth shivered. For a split second the solar system wasn’t.
And then was again. Less than a billionth of a second - but a time shift had nonetheless happened.

This map reminds me of System shock 2 in some interesting way. Besides that, there’s something really strange about it…

Mod Level Contributions
COR-Ophelia
This was a reinterpretation of my previous level ‘VCTF-Ophelia’ for the Unreal Tournament 2004 modification Counter Organic Revolution. This involved an overhaul of the art style in order to match the house theme, and reworked the layout to function optimally with the modification’s gameplay mechanics.
